About

Vampire Love Songs began its life as a one-shot piece of flashfiction called "Rehab", which introduced Seth and Mallory as a married couple trying to tame their addictive personalities.  The twist at the end of this short story was that they were addicted to blood.  A month or so after "Rehab" I wrote "Happy Hour", an equally short piece exploring the kind of relationship that Seth and Mallory had.  It felt more than writing practice than anything else, as even I could have told you that there was nothing particularly new about the vampire genre.

But then something happened.  The characters took hold.  Seth and Mallory appeared almost fully formed in my mind, and were joined shortly after by Billy, their troubled human companion.  I became curious about the complicated history that Seth and Mallory must have, as well as what led Billy down this road.  Before I knew it Volume 1, a ten-chapter storyline, was planned out in my head, and Vampire Love Songs, a webserial, was born.

Volume 1 is nearing an end now, and I am already hard at work on Volume 2.  Follow this link to read Vampire Love Songs from the beginning, and throw yourself into Seth and Mallory's world, where blood and cocktails are comfort food.

Well I've been bound and gagged and I've been terrorized
And I've been castrated and I've been lobotomised
But never has my tormentor come in such a cunning disguise
