Interlude: Mallory's Playlist

Mallory is Seth's better half.  She has gentler manners and arguably more of a conscience - but that isn't to say she is any less complicated.  Every time Seth gives into his impulses, it is Mallory who shoulders the guilt.  Unless she's busy indulging her own vices.

This song is pure Mallory - melancholy and sweet with a dark side.

I'm going to let you in on a little secret: back in the day, Mallory was a bit of a New Romantic.  An upcoming instalment of Vampire Love Songs, entitled "Bleed Cute", takes place one night in the Eighties when Seth and Mallory first met.  I like to imagine this song was playing in the background at the time.

As if I could get through a musical interlude in a series that rambles on and on about addiction and decadence without mentioning the late, great Amy Winehouse.  Her signature track, "Rehab", provided the title for the very first episode of Vampire Love Songs.  "Cupid" is a more playful, romantic song, something that Mallory would listen to while daydreaming about her boys.

Next week I'll be posting a playlist for Billy, Seth and Mallory's human (but equally troubled) companion.

NB: Thanks to Jemima Valentino for suggesting the Shakespear's Sister track.
